  • Itinerary

    Day 1 – Arrive Beijing
    Arrive Beijing and transfer to your hotel for a three night stay. (D)

    Day 2 – Great Wall excursion
    Travel north from the city to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China where you can walk along the top of the wall and appreciate the scale of this remarkable structure as it snakes down valleys and along ridge lines as far as the eye can see. Cable car transfers included. On the way back to Beijing stop at the Ming Tombs and stroll along the Sacred Way lined with animal statues. This evening’s entertainment is a Kongfu Show. (B,L,D)

    Day 3 – Beijing
    Today you will visit the famous sights of Beijing including the majestic Forbidden City, Tian’anmen Square, and the imposing Temple of Heaven. In the evening enjoy a Peking Duck Dinner. (B,L,D)

    Day 4 – Beijing – Xian
    In the morning, tour the Hutongs, Beijing’s ancient, narrow streets by rickshaw, then transfer to Beijing airport for your noon time flight to Xian. On arrival in Xian, take a guided walk on the 500 year old City Wall before checking into your hotel. Stay two nights in Xian. (B,L,D)

    Day 5 – Xian
    Today you will see another amazing sight; the Terracotta Warriors and Horses still standing in battle formation as placed 2000 years ago. Included is a full circle movie presentation providing the historical perspective for the main exhibition halls where excavation and restoration work is on going. Later visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, built to house Buddhist scriptures. This evening try a Dumpling Banquet and see the colorful Tang Dance Show. (B,L,D)

    Day 6 – Xian – Shanghai
    Visit the Shaanxi Provincial Museum, one of the best museums in China, the Muslim Quarter and the Great Mosque. Transfer to Xian airport for your afternoon flight to Shanghai. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel. This evening be entertained by an Acrobatic Show. Stay two nights in Shanghai. (B,L,D)

    Day 7 – Shanghai
    Morning visit to the classical Yu Garden, then in the afternoon take a guided stroll along the Bund, and enjoy a panoramic view over the city from the top of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Visit the History Museum at the base of the tower, and see the thriving waterfront on a Huangpu River cruise. (B,L,D)

    Day 8 – Shanghai – Hanoi
    Time at leisure until transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. You will be met by your guide on arrival at Hanoi airport and transferred to your hotel for a two night stay. (B)

    Day 9 – Hanoi
    Morning city tour of Hanoi takes in the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Compound viewed from the outside, the Museum of Ethnology Museum and the Temple of Literature. Balance of the day at leisure. This evening attend a water puppet show, including private guided return transfers. (B)

    Day 10 – Hanoi – Halong
    Take the cruise company’s group transfer (a journey of up to 4 hours), without guide, to Halong and board your boat for an unforgettable cruise on the bay. Halong Bay, a World Heritage Site, is comprised of over 3000 limestone islands soaring out of emerald green waters. Spend the night on a junk cruise. (B,L,D)

    Day 11 – Halong – Hanoi
    Further cruising on the bay before taking the cruise company’s group transfer, without guide, back to Hanoi and your hotel. Stay overnight in Hanoi. (B)

    Day 12 – Hanoi – Danang – Hoi An
    Private without-guide car transfer to Hanoi airport for your morning flight to Danang. On arrival, visit Non Nuoc, popularly known as China Beach, and Marble Mountains en route to Hoi An. In Hoi An take a short guided walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit the former merchant’s houses, the 400 year old Japanese Covered Bridge and colourful silk and antique shops. Spend two nights in Hoi An. (B)

    Day 13 – Hoi An
    Spend the day at leisure, free to explore the town on your own. (B)

    Day 14 – Hoi An – Danang – Saigon
    Private transfer, without guide, to Danang airport for a flight to Saigon. On arrival private transfer, without guide, to your hotel for a three night stay. (B)

    Day 15 – Saigon and Cu Chi
    Begin your exploration of bustling Saigon with visits to the Pagoda of the Emperor of Jade, the Old Post Office and the History Museum. In the afternoon travel to Cu Chi to explore the amazing underground tunnel system built by Vietnamese guerilla fighters during the war. (B)

    Day 16 – Mekong Delta excursion
    Drive to Ben Tre, on the upper reaches of the Mekong Delta and board a private sampan for a trip along the narrow waterways overhung with vegetation. Stop at a bonsai garden and an orchard to sample some of the diverse fruits. Lunch is elephant ear fish, a specialty of the Delta region. (B,L)

    Day 17 – Depart Saigon
    Leisure time until the departure transfer for your exit flight. (B)
