Day 1 – Arrive Hanoi
You will be met by your guide on arrival at Hanoi airport and transferred to your hotel.
Stay two nights at the Hanoi Essence Hotel (deluxe room) or the Boss Legend Hotel (royal deluxe city room) in Hanoi.
Day 2 – Hanoi
Take a short cyclo tour of the 36 streets and 36 lanes of the Old Quarter. Continue by car to visit the One Pillar Pagoda, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum compound viewed from the outside and the Museum of Ethnology. Afternoon at leisure. This evening attend a water puppet show, including return transfers, without guide. (B)
Day 3 – Hanoi – Halong
Take the cruise company’s four hour group transfer, without guide, to Halong and board your boat for an unforgettable cruise on the bay. Halong Bay, a World Heritage Site, is comprised of over 3000 limestone islands soaring out of emerald green waters.
Spend the night on the Glory Legend (deluxe cabin) cruise boat. (B,L,D)
Day 4 – Halong – Hanoi
Further cruising on the bay before being transferred by the cruise company’s four hour group transfer, without guide, back to your hotel. (Two night cruises are also available – call us for the details.)
Stay overnight at the Hanoi Essence Hotel (deluxe room) or the Boss Legend Hotel (royal deluxe city room) in Hanoi.
Day 5 – Hanoi – Ninh Binh
Take a two hour private guided transfer to the Hoa Lu ancient capital in Ninh Binh province. This was the first centralized feudal state in Vietnam at the end of the 10th century. The ravages of time have destroyed the ancient citadel but some vestiges including King Dinh and King Le worship temples still stand among the rice paddies. Lunch at a local restaurant in Ninh Binh then continue on to Van Long eco-tourism area, a place of astounding natural beauty. With an area of nearly 3000ha it is the largest wetland reserve of Northern Vietnam. A two hour boat trip along the river offers stunning scenery of local villages dotted among the limestone karsts and caves. Bring along binoculars as you might encounter some rare langur monkeys or bird species in their native environment.

Day 6 – Ninh Binh – Cuc Phuong National Park – Hue
Late morning take a short private guided drive to Cuc Phuong National Park. On arrival visit the Endangered Primate Rescue centre and learn about the work that is being done to preserve the native primates. Also visit the Botanical Gardens before driving to the centre of the park to commence our 2-hour trek through the lush rainforest, past centuries old trees, to caves once inhabited by prehistoric humans. There is a direct private guided transfer to Hanoi airport for the evening flight to Hue. On arrival at Hue airport take a private guided transfer to your hotel.

Day 7 – Hue
In the morning visit the Minh Mang Mausoleum, the Citadel and the Thien Mu Pagoda viewed from the outside. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 8 – Hue – Hoi An
Leave Hue in the morning for a guided transfer to Hoi An via the scenic Cloud Pass, visiting Non Nuoc Beach and Marble Mountains en route. In Hoi An, take a guided walking tour of the Ancient Town.
Stay two nights at the Essence Hoi An Hotel & Spa (deluxe window room) in Hoi An. (B)
Day 9 – Hoi An
Spend the day at leisure, free to explore the town on your own. (B)
Day 10 – Hoi An – Nha Trang
Private guided transfer to Danang airport for the flight to Nha Trang. On arrival guided transfers to your hotel.
Stay two nights at the Novotel Hotel (standard room) in Nha Trang. (B)
Day 11 – Nha Trang
Guided transfer to Cau Da harbour for a boat trip on Nha Trang Bay to Mun Island. There’s time for swimming and snorkeling if you wish, then cruise to an island restaurant for lunch. Cruise back to Nha Trang and transfer by private vehicle to your hotel. Afternoon sightseeing in Nha Trang includes visits to the market, Linh Son Pagoda and the 7th century Cham Po Nagar Tower. Day 12 – Nha Trang – Dalat
Head inland on a guided drive via Khanh Le Pass to the former French hill station of Dalat, popular for its landscape of pine forests, rolling hills and tranquil lakes.

Day 13 – Dalat
In the morning, drive to Van Thanh hamlet where you can stroll along the garden paths to admire the colourful scenery and learn more about the traditional gardening methods. Continue driving and witness the beautiful rural outskirts before you pay a visit to a family-run silk making factory. Get all the insights of the entire process from cocoon to garment. Take a short drive to the imposing Elephant Waterfall. Enjoy the fresh air and cool breeze after walking the 145 rather steep steps downhill. Drive back to town for a late lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, pay a visit to the Dalat railway station, which was designed with elements of architecture from the East of France. Enjoy one way open-air train ride to Trai Mat hamlet. Along the way you will have a serene view of the Dalat plateau, with its clumps of multi-coloured housing, valleys and outdoor farms. Then drive to the Domain de Marie Church built in 1938 atop of a hill. The church offers stunning panoramic views. Spend the remainder of the day strolling through the colourful Dalat market with your guide before returning to your hotel (B,L)
Day 14 – Dalat – Saigon
Guided transfer to Dalat airport for the short flight to Saigon. On arrival private guided transfer to your hotel.
Stay three nights at the Grand Silverland Hotel & Spa (premier deluxe room) in Saigon. (B)
Day 15 – Saigon and Cu Chi
Begin your exploration of bustling Saigon with visits to the Presidential Palace (or the War Museum), the Old Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral and Ben Thanh Market. In the afternoon travel to Cu Chi to explore the amazing underground tunnel system built by Vietnamese guerilla fighters during the war. (B)
Day 16 – Mekong Delta excursion
Full day visit to the watery world of Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta. Take a boat trip to see stilt houses and fish farms and try exotic fruits in one of many orchards. Visit a local farmer on Turtle Island then board a sampan to glide along the narrow canals overhung with dense vegetation, stopping for a cup of honey tea and a folk song performance. A lunch of local delicacies is served in My Tho. (B,L)
Day 17 – Depart Saigon
Leisure time until departure transfer, with a guide, to Saigon airport. (B)
