Day 1 – Sydney/Melbourne – Hanoi
Fly from Sydney or Melbourne to Hanoi with Vietnam Airlines. Your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Stay two nights at the Hanoi Pearl Hotel (deluxe window room) or Silk Path Boutique Hanoi (deluxe room) in downtown Hanoi.
Day 2 – Hanoi
A morning Hanoi city tour takes in the One Pillar Pagoda, the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum compound, viewed from the outside, the Hanoi Hilton Prison and the Temple of Literature. Afternoon at leisure. (B)

Day 3 – Hanoi – Halong Bay overnight cruise
A highlight of your visit to Vietnam is sure to be your overnight cruise on Halong Bay. Travel by coach to Halong, a journey of up to 4 hours. On arrival board your boat for a cruise among the rocky limestone islands in the emerald waters of Halong Bay. Seafood lunch and dinner are served on board.
Stay overnight on the Aclass Legend cruise boat (deluxe en-suite cabin) or Swan Cruise (deluxe en-suite cabin) on Halong Bay. (B,L,D)
Day 4 – Halong – Hanoi
Further cruising around Halong Bay this morning. Disembark at Halong and return to Hanoi. Stay one night at the Hanoi Pearl Hotel (deluxe window room) or Silk Path Boutique Hanoi (deluxe room) in downtown Hanoi. (B,L)
Day 5 – Hanoi – Danang – Hoi An
Transfer to Hanoi airport for the morning flight to Danang then transfer to your hotel in quaint and historic Hoi An. In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit the former merchant’s houses, the 400 year old Japanese Covered Bridge and colourful silk and antique shops. Stay three nights at the Thanh Binh Riverside Hotel (deluxe garden or city room) in downtown Hoi An. (B)
Day 6 – My Son Temples
Morning departure from Hoi An on a scenic 1.5 hour guided drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Centre of My Son, the site of Vietnam’s most extensive Cham structural remains. My Son is the former capital of the ancient Champa civilization which ruled Central Vietnam from the 2nd to the 13th centuries. On arrival explore the 20 temple towers still standing today set in a verdant jungle valley surrounded by hills and overlooked by massive Cat’s Tooth Mountain. Return to Hoi An and arrive at your hotel early in the afternoon. Balance of the day at leisure. (B)

Day 8 – Hoi An – Danang – Nha Trang
Transfer from your hotel to Danang airport for the flight to Nha Trang. Transfer to your hotel which is very close to the beach and has a swimming pool. Balance of the day at leisure. Stay two nights at the Novotel Nha Trang (standard room with balcony and sea view) in Nha Trang. (B)

Day 10 – Nha Trang – Saigon
Morning at leisure. Early afternoon take a transfer from your hotel to Nha Trang airport for the flight to Saigon. Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel.

Day 11 – Saigon and Cu Chi Tunnels
Begin your exploration of bustling Saigon with visits to the Presidential Palace, the War Museum and the Ben Thanh Market. In the afternoon travel to Cu Chi to explore the amazing underground tunnel system built by Vietnamese guerilla fighters during the war. (B)
