  • Itinerary

    Day 1 – Arrive Kota Kinabalu
    Upon arrival at the airport you will be met by a local representative and transferred to Tuaran Beach for a four night stay at the Nexus Resort & Spa in a deluxe panorama room.
    Day 2 – Kota Kinabalu
    Urban allure meets rural charm as you set off to discover Sabah, starting with a morning tour through its capital, Kota Kinabalu (KK). See its many places of interests such as the Wisma Tun Mustapha, University Malaysia Sabah, its state and city mosque, a Chinese temple and Sabah Museum (closed on Fridays), and stop at Signal Hill for a spectacular bird’s eye view of KK and the nearby islands.  (B)
    Day 3 – Kinabalu Park – Poring
    A day tour takes you into the mountainous Crocker Range and Kinabalu Park, the site of Mount Kinabalu, South East Asia’ highest peak. The park is a haven for nature enthusiasts with an incredible diversity of flora and fauna. On arrival, enjoy a guided nature trek along one of the many trails in the park, and a canopy walk, before proceeding to Poring Hot Springs for the opportunity for an invigorating dip into its hot sulphur springs. Visit Ranau Memorial Park which was one of the stops for the POWs during the tragic Death March. (B,L)
    Day 4 – Tuaran Beach
    Today is a free day to enjoy the facilities at your beach resort.  (B)
    Day 5 – Sepilok Orang Utan  – Sandakan  
    Come face to face with nature in this orang utan adventure that takes you to the other side of Borneo. Board a plane for historic Sandakan, one of Sabah’s earliest settlements, where you can visit the Sepilok Forest Reserve where young, orphaned or captured orang utans are rehabilitated into the wild.  Lunch is at the charming English Tea House overlooking Sandakan, followed by a tour of Sandakan visiting the market, Chinese temple and deeply moving Sandakan War Memorial. Stay overnight at the Sabah Hotel.  (B,L)
    Day 6 – Sandakan – Sukau
    Check out of the hotel and transfer by road to Sukau. Stop briefly at Gomantong Cave, famous for its bird’s nests. Check in at Discovery River Lodge. Relax by the river before embarking by an evening boat up-river along the Kinabatangan, Sabah’s longest river, with the opportunity to view wildlife and birds in virgin mangrove and rainforest habitats. Search for some of the primates species, including proboscis monkeys as they settle down on treetops.  (B,L,D)
    Day 7 – Sukau – Sandakan
    Wake up to the calls of birds, insects and animals. Take a sunrise cruise up the Kinabatangan River and onto Kelenanap Ox Bow Lake for bird watching. Return to the lodge for breakfast and then transfer to Sandakan airport for your departure flight.  (B)
